Creation Story: Queen of Cups
How Inner Whispers Tarot Came to Life
With the Queen of Cups, my mind sifted through many images, meanings, and memories gathered over more than 55 years of reading. Some had left such a deep mark that they seemed to whisper their way into the creation of this card.
I imagined her seated at the water’s edge, holding her chalice with quiet reverence. Her expression needed to show a soul connected to the Universe, emotionally aware, calm, intuitive, and shaped from within.
Again and again, I was drawn back to her cup.
Some of the cards in Inner Whispers Tarot came through dreams, while others arrived as visions, emotions, or symbolic impressions. I often begin by capturing the vision in words, almost like writing a story before the image is ever created.
Once the story was written, I created a detailed image prompt with the figures, clothing, colours, environment, symbolism, and emotional tone I could see and feel. At that point, I used AI as my paintbrush, guiding and refining the image until the vision began to take form.
Some cards flowed through quickly. Others, like this one, needed more time to reveal themselves. Much like writing a book, the story had to unfold in its own time.
Creation Story: 5 of Pentacles
With the 5 of Pentacles, I did not see two people walking separately through hardship. I saw a supportive couple leaning into one another, using what little strength they had left to keep moving forward together.
When the vision first came to me, I could almost feel the cold air pushing against me, the sleet hitting my face and body, and the dim light ahead quietly guiding them onward. I wanted future readers to feel that same emotion when they looked at the card.
It became the major symbol of this card. I just couldn’t have it look like the other cups in Inner Whispers. Hers needed to feel larger, more magical, and almost alive, a sacred container for her gifts, kindness, intuition, and endless knowledge.
The other cups in the deck are carved from amethyst but I ensured hers was polished so it held a glow that would pull you in. I provided a lid so it could protect the precious contents While she could still see through it to unspoken treasures within.
